DJI Mavic Mini – Best Accessories 2020

DJI Mavic Mini – Best Accessories 2020

The DJI Mavic Mini is a great drone, it is small, but still takes pictures and videos like its bigger brothers.

If you’ve decided to buy the DJI Mavic Mini, you may find that you may need a few more accessories to record more, fly longer and make sure your Mavic Mini is well protected.

In this post you will find useful accessories for your DJI Mavic Mini.

1. Micro SD card

The Mavic Mini is a great drone, but it doesn’t have internal storage. Therefore, a micro SD card is a mandatory accessory if you want to take pictures or videos with the Mavic Mini.

Like the manufacturer DJI, I recommend the SanDisk Extreme.

2. Intelligent flight battery

With an average of 25 minutes, the DJI Mavic Mini has a very good battery life for a drone of this size.

But it is very annoying if you miss a nice picture due to a low battery or too few batteries.

3. DJI Care Refresh

Whoever flies drones should of course be insured. Since a drone is not a cheap hobby, it is of course also recommended to insure the drone itself.

DJI Care Refresh is a service that covers self-inflicted damage to your drone. DJI Care Refresh offers up to two complete replacement devices.
More information about DJI Care Refresh can be found here.

4. Charging base

This special accessory from DJI is not included in the Fly More Combo, but is sold separately.

Although the Charging Base can only charge one battery at a time, it looks very stylish and is an eye-catcher on your desk when you want to display your Mavic Mini. The charging base is one of the most interesting extras for your DJI Mavic Mini.

5. Two-way charging hub

The best way to charge the batteries is definitely the two-way charging hub. You can insert up to 3 batteries in the charging hub, these are then charged one after the other (starting with the battery with the most power).

You can also use the Charging Hub as a power bank, for example to charge the remote control of the Mavic Mini or your smartphone on the go.

6. Landing pad

If you do not want to take off or land by hand, it is advisable to purchase a landing pad. The landing pad, for example, protects the motors and camera gimbal from swirling dust and sand when taking off and landing.

7. Hardcase

Probably the safest way to store and transport the DJI Mavic Mini is a hard case.

MC Cases is a well-known manufacturer that produces very high quality and even waterproof cases. MC Cases offers two versions for the DJI Mavic Mini.

8. Extra propeller

Additional propellers are some of the most important drone accessories. Even experienced drone pilots sometimes have accidents and a cracked or damaged propeller can cause flight instability or even the drone to crash.

9. Propeller holder

As the Mavic Mini has folding propellers, it is recommended to use a propeller holder.
With a propeller holder, the propellers remain fixed and cannot be damaged during transport.

10. ND filter

An ND filter works like sunglasses for the human eye. This means that an ND filter will reduce the amount of light that hits the camera’s sensor without affecting the actual image. ND filters are essential in professional photo and videography.

11. Signal booster

If the range of your DJI Mavic Mini is not enough for you, it is recommended to improve the signal of the remote control. For example, parabolic reflectors can be used for this. This is a very inexpensive way to improve signals.

If this is not enough, you can also replace the original antennas with stronger antennas. The Taoke booster kit includes two 7dBi directional antennas and two 7dBi omni-directional antennas. The remote control of the DJI Mavi Mini must be screwed on for this conversion. However, soldering is not necessary, the new antenna cables are simply plugged into the remote control.

12. Landing gear

If you don’t want to take off and land from your hand or from a landing pad, it is advisable to use a longer landing gear.
With a longer landing gear, the camera gimbal is much better protected when landing on rough ground.

There are various variants from third-party providers, such as a frame for water landings.
